Toilet Manners

This is from Mae, 3rd deck. Since day one, she doesn't use the sand box for her business. She'd be pooing on the 3rd deck and urinating at the entrance of the tube on the 1st deck. With this, it'll stain the surrounding beddings and whatever food she has stashed there. YUCKS!!!!

And recently, Nutmeg has done the same thing too. On the 2nd deck.
All this while, she has been using the sand box diligently. But just this week, the 2nd deck has been littered with her poo.

On top of that, it'll be littered with the sand as well. Well, I can't blame her for that. With her size, she is bound to "carry" some of the sand out. LOL!!!!

I know Mae can never be toilet-trained since day one. But Nutmeg, she's doing so well since day one. And now. * exasperated sigh *

I am being greeted by these scenes every morning. Luckily hamsters are nocturnal animals. Therefore I can leave it until later in the evening.

Nutmeg: Taming 102

She has drawn blood from my finger twice.

She seems eager & pleased when she notices me. But she snatches the food from me. As if fearing that the food will be snatched away from her before she cud get her lil paws on it.

On the 2nd feed, she'd be clawing/pawing at my fingers. And before I can release the food to her, she'd be drawing blood from me.

Taming 101

After reading online on taming hamsters for first-timer, I’ve finally managed to tame Evie.

One of the tips for taming is to let the hamster work it out in the exercise ball first. Then put your palm next to the exit and get the hamster to walk out onto your palm. With this, start the man-handling. LOL!!! I did this with Evie and it worked. Cos the subsequent times I placed my palm next to her, she’ll climb onto it willingly. Gonno continue with this to reinforce it in her.

Next will be the other two ladies.

Speaking of the exercise ball, all three girls love it. Cos they climbed into it willingly. And no more poo. Kekekeee!!!!!
